Walking in the Pyrenees
In the most unspoiled, varied and attractive region of Western Europe we offer a variety of walks: some relatively undemanding others, more challenging, involving overnight stays in refuges on the way across the mountains into Spain. There is always something to hold your attention and interest: farms, hamlets, villages, churches, plants, animals, deserted mines and sweeping views across a rich and varied landscape to the high peaks. See the full programme at Walking in the Pyrenees.
Walking in Greece
We have selected three locations in Crete and mainland Greece from which to base our walks. All are different but each has been chosen for the same reasons: to take you off the beaten track; to be in areas of outstanding beauty; to be among our friends, real Greeks, the farmers, shepherds and other country people who bring to life the Greek custom of 'filoxenia' (love of the stranger). More details can be found soon at Walking in Greece.
Painting
The course is designed to encourage and develop the creative abilities of aspiring painters. Morning sessions with the course tutor are supplemented with optional walks in the surrounding countryside. In the late afternoon the tutor takes back the reins. More details are available at Painting.
Chambres d’hôtes: Le Clos Enchanté
Our home is a large, carefully restored, early nineteenth century town house with five bedrooms and the facilities to host groups of up to 15 people. When not occupied by parties of walkers, we offer a chambres d’hôtes service. We are based in Castillon, a village in the heart of the Couserans, near St Girons and St Lizier; Toulouse airport is 90 minutes away by car. The area has excellent resources for fishing, walking and cycling – the Tour de France passes through the village. See some of our rooms and other features at Chambres d’hôtes.
Snowshoes Breaks 2008
We are running ten Snowshoe Breaks in January and February 2008; some are four-day, some six-day and week-ends. We provide the specialist equipment and any tuition you need; the Pyrenees provides the incomparably beautiful and dramatic setting in which to snowshoe. For full details go to Snowshoeing in the Pyrenees.
